About Me

My name is Drew Linder and I am currently an administrator with Boston Public Schools. But there is much more to my story than that...

First off, I am originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan and I graduated high school from East Kentwood High School. I feel fortunate to have attended East Kentwood becaue it prepared me really well for the real world. Our school was extremely diverse and the population speaks over 30 different languages and come from over 50 different countries.

After i graduated high school, I went on to Western Michigan Univesrity. At Western I studied Elementary Education with minors in Science and Social Studies. During my time there, I joined the fraternity Sigma Phi Epsilon where I met some of my closest friends.

After graduating from Western Michigan University, I moved back to Grand Rapids to start my teaching career. Although this was a great opportunity, I knew I wanted something different in the way of education, so I decided to move to New Orleans and teach in the city. I lived and taught in New Orleans for five years.

My girlfriend and I met in New Orleans and worked there for four years together. She then moved to Boston and after a year of a long distance relationship, I was able to find a great job and move to Boston as well. When I am not working I enjoy being active. I especially like to play soccer and I have been playing soccer in adult leagues for the past 5 years. I also really enjoy being around people, friends old and new. I find that meeting and talking with new people is something that I enjoy and I find myself being more open to creating new and exciting friendships.

Although I am living in Boston, the rest of my family still lives in the Grand Rapids area. My mom, Cathy, and my dad, Howard, are the most loving and caring people in the world and they have taught me how to be a man and more importantly, how to treat other people in this world. I have 2 older brothers, Joe and Scott, that I would consider to be 2 of my best friends. I have a sister-in-law, Aubrey, who has really kept our family on our toes and has brought a unique dynamic to our family. I also have a nephew, Jaxson, who is just 2 years old, but we can already tell that he is going to be a firecracker when he grows up.
